The Whole School Production - Forward To The Past was a brilliant success. Despite some very hot weather and a few spots of rain, our enthusiasm wasn't dampened and Ballina Public School showed what it was made of!
Congratulations to each and every student who took part. You did an amazing job and it was so great to see you all enjoy performing together.
A special mention must go to all of the staff at Ballina Public School who as ever were super supportive of our big ideas! Our crew who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that props were organised, lights and sound were A1 and students were where they were supposed to be.
Thanks too must go to Bernie Kelly and Bronwen Eady for organising these crew members and for ensuring that our show was such a polished success.
Those who were lucky enough to get a ticket to our (sold out!) evening shows would have marvelled at our costumes. A huge Thank you to Jane Boots (Mrs Drinkwater's mum) Kaye Miles (Mrs Murphy's mum) and Marcia Kelly (Mrs Kelly's mother in law) who worked tirelessly to produce many of the amazing costumes. Thanks Jane too for help with quick costume changes during the performances. Thanks to Shane Kelly (Mrs Kelly's husband) for his brilliant job of constructing the time machine.
Congratulations to the band and choir students who were busy running between playing in the band, dancing with their own class item, singing in the choir and for many back to playing with the band. You were busy - but you sounded amazing.
Thanks to Mrs Murphy's team of assistant choreographers, Milly S (dancer, soloist, band and choir member and choreographer!), Lydia M, Tiara M and Bianca F.
Perhaps most importantly though we need to thank our 4 lead roles, Aaisha B (as Pop), Kaleb H (as Johnno), Lucinda R (as Ivy) and Netikah H (as Gran). They were polished and professional and got better and better as the shows went on. Congratulations on your brilliant job of telling the story. A wonderful effort!
We had so much fun putting this together and we can't wait to do this again in 2 years time!
Warm regards
Mrs Drinkwater and Mrs Murphy.
